The Halls Planning Consultancy team has received a number of recent planning successes in the last few months as the service continues to grow its client base.
Examples of these planning successes include:
Securing the use of Camping Pods within the Shropshire Hills AONB, through farm diversification at Colstey Farm, Bishops Castle. Being within the Clun Special Area of Conservation (SAC), due to the protected freshwater pearl mussel, the high standards of water quality required was a major consideration. Through careful dialogue with Council officers and an understanding of the aims of the SAC we were able to achieve a planning approval.
Consent for conversion of traditional barns to two dwellings near Cuddington, Malpas in the Cheshire West and Chester Planning area. Through the creation of new residential property Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is payable and is a relevant consideration in such a development. Acutely aware of the need to ensure developments remain viable our knowledge of the process enables clients to make the required commercial decisions.
Planning consent secured for three pig rearing sites in the Midlands for Mercer Farming. Mercer Farming known for their RSPCA Freedom Foods Approved ‘Packington Pork’ brand, purchased 1700 acres of the Patshull Estate in 2020. Robert Mercer wished to re-establish livestock on 3 sites on the predominantly arable sandy soils of the Patshull Estate. Halls successfully secured consent for pig rearing sheds on all three sites, one site in South Staffordshire and a further two sites in Shropshire. In total the three sites can house in excess of 2000 pigs where the focus is not just on profitability but on positive social and environmental outcomes.
Residential Development approved at Nesscliffe, Shropshire.
Mixed use leisure premises approved to support the growth of a Shropshire tourism facility, incorporating a retail, office and ancillary uses on the edge of the AONB.
